Artificial Intelligence Usage Policy

JIEAS permits authors to use AI tools such as Copilot and ChatGPT, but their use is generally limited to tasks such as literature review, data analysis, language polishing, and reference management. All submitting authors must adhere to the following restrictions:

1. Originality Assurance

Independent Creation: Despite the use of AI tools, authors must ensure the originality of their papers, guaranteeing that all content is the result of their independent thinking and creation.

AI Content Proportion: Generally, the proportion of content created by AI should not exceed 20%, with a maximum limit of 50%. Authors must rigorously review and modify AI-generated content to ensure it meets academic standards.

2. Ethical Compliance

Academic Integrity: Authors must ensure that the use of AI tools complies with academic integrity standards and must not use AI tools for any form of academic misconduct, such as plagiarism, data fabrication, or theft of others’ work.

Transparent Use: Authors should maintain transparency when using AI tools, ensuring that all generated content is thoroughly reviewed and verified to meet academic norms.

Ethical Review: When dealing with data involving human or animal experiments, authors must ensure that the use of AI tools complies with ethical review standards and does not violate relevant ethical regulations.

3. AI Detection Tools

Detection Tools: Our journal employs Turnitin or ZeroGPT tools to detect AI-generated content, ensuring the originality and compliance of submissions. Typically, we prioritize the use of ZeroGPT for detection.

Detection Process: The editorial board will conduct AI-generated content detection during the academic compliance review stage, and the results will serve as a crucial basis for manuscript evaluation.

4. Data Privacy

Data Protection: Authors must comply with relevant data privacy and protection regulations when using AI tools to process data, ensuring that no sensitive information, including but not limited to personal data, experimental data, and confidential information, is disclosed.

Compliant Use: Authors should ensure that the use of AI tools complies with the data privacy laws and regulations of their respective countries and regions, avoiding any form of data misuse or leakage.

5. Responsibility

Full Responsibility: Despite the use of AI tools, authors remain fully responsible for all content and conclusions of their papers, including parts generated by AI tools.

Content Accuracy: Authors must ensure that AI-generated content is accurate and has been thoroughly reviewed and verified to meet academic standards.

Error Correction: If errors or inaccuracies are found in AI-generated content, authors are responsible for promptly correcting and modifying them.

6. Human Supervision

Supervision Mechanism: The use of AI tools should be conducted under human supervision to ensure that the generated content meets academic standards and journal requirements.

Quality Control: Authors should establish strict quality control processes to comprehensively review and verify AI-generated content.

Human Intervention: When necessary, authors should intervene and adjust AI-generated content to ensure it meets research objectives and academic norms.

7. Transparency Declaration

Declaration Recommendation: The journal does not mandate authors to declare the use of AI tools, but it is strongly recommended that authors inform us if AI tools were used when submitting their papers and allow us to disclose this information to readers.

Reader’s Right to Know: Transparency declarations help enhance the transparency and credibility of academic research, ensuring that readers understand the creation process of the paper.

8. Experimental Data

Data Generation: Any experimental data included in the paper must not be generated by AI tools. Authors must ensure that all experimental data is obtained through traditional experimental methods.

Data Verification: Authors must rigorously verify experimental data to ensure its authenticity and reliability.
